I am looking for any information regarding LEWIS Family in GERMANY.

Family information from marriage certificate shows
LEWIS, George born Germany -approx. 1840-45-
married
MESSNER, Elizabeth, (born 1856 born NYC.) in July 1878

George Lewis the son of George S. Lewis ( of Germany) and Eliza. Stople
or Stofel ( born Germany) I would approximate their years of birth
1810-25.

George S. LEWIS may have been a seaman, whose family originally from
Wales, shown to be living on Madison Ave. in 1860-80 directories.

Looking for any information regarding these people especially the years
of death, to gain access to more information.

This is NOT a new search for me-have been checking thru this line for
last 3 years and can make no connection to any other Lewis, Have not
been able to find the "right" George Lewis on passenger lists, to
fetermine where in Germany he may have come from, and suspect he may
have been crew member not listed along with passengers.
Grateful for any information anyone can supply.
