In this instance, the warning is more accurate than not. It is not a hoax,
as the page you refer to attests; it is a worm, though, and not a virus.
The Symantec pages (to which the now defunct government site refers)
suggests that there is a high probability of receiving this worm, and that
it is worldwide.
