I also have a George W. Lewis b. 17 Jun 1827, son of Thomas Buford Lewis and Mary
McCarty. I believe he was born in Caldwell Co., Kentucky. Thomas Buford Lewis
is supposed to be one of the first settlers in Caldwell Co., being there by
1810. According to "Kentucky Pioneers and Their Descendents" (Caldwell Co.
marriages) shows George Lewis married to Helen A. Cartwright on June 17, 1847.
>From another source which I have not verified yet, there were two children born:
1850 & 1858. Can the marriage to Mary E. French in 1866 be a remarriage. I have
not found death dates for George or Helen yet.
