I would never have been rude to him had he not written me a very rude
letter in the beginning. I tried to explain to him and even gave him
the references and still he writes a snide retort. I have written
nine books and don't need the "fame" he suggested I get. Why he is so
thick-skulled that he can't believe people were there prior to the
Pilgrims in Mass. is beyond me. I was just trying to help the young
lady who wanted to know about Maine.
Evidently you didn't read his letters to me or you wouldn't be so
critical. When one offers the information along with the sources is
there any reason to say "It didn't happen!" I've been in family
research for over forty years, written nine books, some in the 6th and
7th edition, have taught British History and Literature for over
twenty years and have tried to help whenever I can. I have never run
into someone as rude as that person. I am new on Internet, but if that
is the type of person who uses it, especially on the Lewis line, then
I'll withdraw my Lewis name from the list.
I don't know if you are the person who first asked "Who owned Maine?"
but if you are you surely have read all of his letters to me. Whether
one has had good teachers or bad teachers is really not the point;
there is no excuse fora person being incapable to accept what one says
when sources are provided
Nor is there any excuse for snide remarks. I apologize to those who
read the letters but not to the moron named Bryan.
