Thank you, Belinda. I am sorry that I stooped to that person's level;
however, I did unsubscribe because I want no part of a program that
his him involved.
I was answering a letter to the lady who had asked "Who owned Maine."
I could have been rude and told her to look it up, but I answered her
only to be refuted by the Mr. Know it all. When I then gave
references he felt he had to come back with "It never happened. If it
did write a book about it and get fame."
I have written nine books, some published in as many as six and seven
editions and which can be found in some of the largest libraries. I
need no fame. I have worked on family history for over thirty -forty
years - - one of the lucky ones who started while the "old folks" were
still alive. What started out as a compilation of my many years of
research for our three sons turned into a non-profit business and
something that is also helping other people.
If you would like to write me in reference to Lewis families feel free
to do so. I have my husband's family in the South as well as the
Lewises who married into my Redding family in Maine in the 1600's.
I also have two home pages with listings of surnames as well as a list
of fraudulent genealogists, a list that was published by the National
Genealogical Society of which I am a member.
Happy hunting, Billie Redding Lewis
