These Long's were listed in a book, entitled "A Belated Census of Earliest
Settlers of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri", by Rev. William J. Gammon:
*Long, Andrew W., b. 29 Oct. 1844, d. 6 Oct. 1889.
Long, Bertha F., dau. of Columbia and M. J., b. and d. in 1868.
Long, Emma, dau. of J. E., b. 25 July 1860, d. 18 Feb. 1863.
*Long, George A., b. 20 Dec. 1867, d. 20 Sept. 1910.
Long, John, b. 2 Jan. 1815, d. 30 Sept. 1888.
*Long, Lou, b. 23 Dec. 1874, d. 3 Dec. 1885.
*Long, John, b. 8 Sept. 1875, d. 13 May 1885.
*Long, Mary L., b. 7 Nov. 1842, d. 20 Dec. 1906.
*These were buried in McKendree cemetery, 1/4 mi. west of Old McKendree
Church, 3 mi. east, slightly north of Jackson, on Williams Creek road to
Cape Girardeau.
All others were buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, at site of Pleasant Hill
Presbyterian Church, 3/4 mi. northeast of Fruitland, off to right (east) of
highway No. 25.
