Hello,
I've been lurking for a few weeks on this list to learn the proper method of
submitting a post. I'm not sure that I have figured it out yet, but here
goes...
Several Frakes family members have been researching the Frakes lines in
America for many years. I have just recently gotten very interested in
finding links back to the old world. I would like to find out about the
imigrant ancestors of Henry FRIGGS.
The following is what we know so far about him:
We know that Henry FRIGGS was probably born in Pennsylvania or Maryland in
about 1664. He married a Mary ? in August 1691 in Somerset County,
Maryland.
From: "County Clerk Notebook", Somerset County, Maryland, Volumes 1 - 10 and
"Ancestral Proof and Possibilities", Numbers 1 - 4, Volume 10, page 63;
"15 September 1685, will of Noble, wife executrix, witness: William
Brereton, Benjamin Neshin, Alex X Michael, Henry X Freek." Date of proof is
not given. Recorded 14 June 1690.
We think that possibly Mary ? was a Noble since Henry witnessed Noble's will
above.

Note: IKL - Liber in Somerset County records
From: "Maryland Calendar of Wills, 1703 - 1713", Volume IV, page 121;
1708 "Will of Benjamin Heasham, Stepney Parish, Somerset County, Maryland.
One of the witnesses was Henry Freeks. (probably Henry I)
From: "The Research of Nina Howlett Frakes" and "The Research of Robert
Leroy Frakes"
1710 "Committee from the Maryland General Assembly asked to call on Henry
Freeks and ask him to remove himself, family and stock from near a group of
Nanticoke Indians. He was referred to as "The English".
1716 Henry Friggs I died on September 10.
What I would really like to find are some ties back to his ancestors. We
know that several Freke men were also in the area, and that several Freak
men were in New York and New Jersey at the time.
Hoping that this will jog someones memories...
