I have found many incorrect spellings on my
Lyons line.
I searched all over creation for a GGGGAunt,
and found her name had been changed to Lion,
not by her choice I am sure.
My GG Grandfather's name was (John) Irwin Green Lyons.
In receiving a marriage license, and birth certificate, and other
correspondence, the
spellings were Irving G. Ervin G, and Arvin.
I use certain genealogy sites for possible guidlines, such as birth
places, children, and
wives. then I persue to see if they are factual.
We are all at this site to help one another,
and not to insult, which will only keep people
from trying to be helpful.
I have received misinformation in the past,
but in the same token I was pleased that someone responded.
The best advice I ever received was when responding to someone state
you can not verify this but, (someone either told you , you
read it etc.)
Please be kind to each other.
What I read today was unkind.
Carol
