JUST A THOUGHT FOR EVERYONE ON THE LIST:
When the Irish first came to America, their was a language problem.
They spoke Gaelic. That said, I have found during my search for my
ancestors who lived in Milford, Mass., that instead of the spelling
Lyons, some were listed as Lynes or Lymes.
I know this for a fact. On a Plaque that is mounted on a Memorial which
lists the names of all the solders that were from Milford, Mass. and
fought in the Civil War, my ancestors' last names were misspelled.
The name of my Great Grandfather Michael and his brother, Martin Lyons,
show one listed as Lynes, and the other as Lymes. I am still trying to
have their names corrected.
I hope this helps in your research for ancestors your still trying too
locate.
Best wishes, MICHELLE LYONS
