Notes for HENRY MOORE:

Henry Moores participation in the Revolutionary War (DAR record # 379620 ) included being a Volunteer on an expedition to Norfolk, VA; Wilmington, NC. He was classified as a Patroller in 7/1/1775 to search suspects for firearms and other contraband. He was assigned to Captain Dannels Company according to Proceedings of Safety Committee of Pitt County NC. ( See p63 vol. 10 Colonial Records of NC by Wm. l Saunders.)

The 1755 tax list for Beaufort County, NC lists Jacob Moore and Moses Moore-this is most likely the Moses Moore Sr. who died in Pitt County about 1807. Pitt County was formed in 1760-176. It was formed from part of Beaufort County, NC

family Bible . . . " and forwarded by the writer, Elizabeth C. Downs of

Virginia Beach, Va., to R. Kammerer in 1990. Ms. Downs is the daughter

of Elizabeth Lorena Moore and granddaughter of James H. and Maggie

Norris Moore. Jacob Moore married Dorcas Flanagan of Cross Roads

District, Pitt Co. (near Farmville). Present owner unknown.
