Any UDC members that might be on this list would you please try to help me.
I have received from Richmond the service records of James K. Long so I
know that he served from NC and someone has used him as an ancestor. I have
having trouble with his marriage and place of death. He enlisted at
Garysburg, NC. He is listed on Roll of Honor in County of Northampton.
Could you search your roosters and see if you have a member that might have
been approved with him as their ancestor so I could order papers and try to
find the information I need. I could get copy of papers if I had a name.
My husband is eligible for National Defense Medal and I would like to get
his daughter approved for UDC so that her certificate and his medal could
be presented at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I
know that this is not interesting to list so please e-mail me privately.
Anyone that is on this list, please pass this message on to anyone that you
know that is in United Daughters of the Confederacy.
