Dear John,

Regarding your question...The cemetary guide in question was prepared by
members of the Creggan Local History Society. It covers the ancient cemetery in
Cregganbane next to the (now) protestant( Episcopalian) church. The Franciscans
had a Friary in Creggan of the Fewes before the Reformation. The family of
Turlough McHenry O'Neill, last Irish Chieftain of the Fewes, has a burial
crypt/vault near the foundations of the ancient church which precedes the current
stone building.

Creggan Parish wasn't divided into upper and lower parishes until the late
1700s. Therefore people from both segments are there and some relatively recently,
both Catholic and Protestant.

The modern RC cemeteries.are in Crossmaglen and Cullyhanna.near the current
churches. The latter is lower Creggan parish.

Hope thsi helps.....Leo Cannon Gainesville, Florida
