Dear Listers,

Could SKS please tell me were, or what Aghaloo is and which would be the
Catholic Church of that area? Is the River Blackwater near by?

I am trying to find details of the marriage of Elizabeth PENDLETON and John
or James McKENNA about 1850. All I have is a sheet of paper written many
years ago, with a sort of family tree thereon. It is not very clear who
was married to whom and the dates are indistinct. There are place names,
one of which is Aghaloo and it seems to indicate that the marriage took
place in that parish in St.Mary's there. I know that the McKenna home was
in Emyvale, Monaghan, so perhaps Aghaloo was Elizabeth's parish.

PENDLETON does not seem like an Irish name; has anyone come across it in
the area?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
