Hi Mike,
Thank you for your help in trying to find my elusive ancestors.
We went to our local LDS today to check again the film which shows, what I
hope is the birth and the marriage of James McKENNA my g.grandfather to Mary
McCALLEN. I really do not know which of the names to chose from the list
you gave me. How would it be possible to find out more about the John
McKENNA on the list, he seems a likely prospect? I had no idea that there
would be so many McKENNA families on the one church record list. In almost
every record of an event, there was a McKENNA. Either the bride or groom,
the sponsor or the baby, was likely to be a McKENNA. I was amazed. It is
going to take me a long time to work out who was related to whom. I will
have to order the film over and over again because it can be difficult to
have access to a film reader, so many people are doing their family's
history but only three readers.
I found the Parish of AGHALOO this afternoon on a map of the Civil Parishes
of County Tyrone, in a book called, "Heather Peat and Stone". It is the
southern most part of the County, bordering on Monaghan.
Thank you again, I really appreciate your help.
Therese.
