Hello,

I'm looking for information on the AUMICK, Van BOSKERCK, and also the
AMMERMAN families of Hunterdon County. Andries AMACK of Hunterdon Co., who
married Fytje Van BOSKERCK, daughter of Thomas Laurens Van BUSKIRK, b.
1668, Bergen Co., NJ.

Andries AMACK, was a.k.a. Andreas AUGHMUCK, Andrew AUMUCK, AUMOCK, etc.
There are lots of ways to spell this name :^) The children I found listed:

i. Thomas AMACK, b. 16 Sept. 1753, Reading, Hunterdon Co., NJ.
ii. Abraham AMACK, b. 12 Apr. 1757, Reading, Hunterdon Co., NJ.

(source: http://www.comsource.net/~ccaniff/genealogy/p3906.html)

There may have been other children (John, or Johannes, and William AMACK)
not listed here. I believe that one of these AUMOCK children later married,
about 1776, a Lenni-Lenapi (Delaware) woman. My 4th great grandfather, John
AUMICK, was half Native American Indian. He and his wife Catherine moved to
Pennsylvania about 1804 and settled in Eaton Township, Luzerne Co. about
1818.

What I've found so far on AMACK/AUGHMUCK/AUMACK/AUMICK/AUMOCK in Hunterdon Co.:

1747: Andries AMACK married (Bergen Co., NJ?) Fytje VAN BOSKERCK (NJ wills).
1759: Andreas AUGHMUCK; Potterstown, Hunterdon Co. (newspaper abstract).
1771: Johannes & Catherina AMAAK; New Germantown, Hunterdon Co.;
daughter Maria AMAAK; christened 6 Apr. 1771; Corporation Of Zion (LDS).
1772: Johannes & Catherina AMAAK, New Germantown, Hunterdon Co.;
daughter Fitye AMACK; christened 23 Aug. 1772; New Readington (LDS).
1778: Abraham & John AUMOCK; Tewksbury, Hunterdon Co. (Rev. Census).
1779: Abraham & John AUMOCK; Tewksbury (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1780: Abraham & John AUMOCK; Tewksbury (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1784: Thomas & Elisabeth AMACK; New Germantown, Hunterdon Co.;
son John McKeren AMACK; christened 1 Sept 1784; Corporation Of Zion (LDS).
1784: John & Thomas AUMOCK; Tewksbury (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1785: William AMMERMAN (possible cousin); Kingwood (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1785: Abraham & Andrew AWMACK; Reading (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1785: John & Thomas AUMOCK; Tewksbury (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1789: Andrew & John AMMACK; Lebanon (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1790: Abraham AMERMAN (possible cousin); Reading (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1790: John AUMOCK; Lebanon (Hunterdon Co. tax list).
1790: Johannes & Catherina AMAAK; New Germantown, Hunterdon Co.;
son Jacob AMACK; christened 14 July 1790; Corporation Of Zion (LDS).
daughter Anna AMACK; christened 22 May 1793; Corporation Of Zion (LDS).
son Philip AMAK; christened 5 May 1796; Corporation Of Zion (LDS).

I wish I had more Van BOSKERCK info for Hunterdon Co., but I don't. I've
included the AMMERMAN's here because Geertje AMACK/AUMACK was married about
1699, at Flatlands, Long Island, to Albert AMMERMAN. Jan AMACK and Geertje
AUMACK were both children of Theunis Janse Van AMACH. I believe that
Andries AMACK was a son of Jan AMACK (Andrew AUMACH, son of John AUMACH -
NJ wills), who lived in Freehold, Monmouth Co., New Jersey.

Listed in the 1790 census for Mohawk Town, Montgomery Co., New York:

Thomas AUMICK, with 2 males under 16; and 2 females.
Abraham AUSMUCK, with 3 males under 16; and 3 females.
William AWMUCK, with 2 males under 16; and 2 females.

These New York AUMICK's most likely came from Hunterdon Co., since I
haven't seen Thomas or Abraham's names on Hunterdon Co. tax lists for 1790.

I would love to have any information on any of these Hunterdon Co.
families. Does anyone have access to New Jersey state census information?

Thank you,
Brad Aumick
