Brothers Zacharias and Johan Wilhelm Ahlbach arrived in Philadelphia in 1734
via the ship Hope. The ship's registry lists several children and their
spouses although it is not clear which children belonged to which family. The
brothers first settled in Hunterdon County, NJ. Zacharias eventually moved
onto Frederick Co., MD. It appears that the descendents of Zacharias in MD
took on the name Albaugh and the NJ descendents of Zacharias and Johan became
Alpaugh after using Alpock for a while. Both brothers appeared to have
additional children after arriving in this country. Unfortunately, it has
become very difficult to determine which children belong to which brother. To
make matters even more confusing, a third brother, Morris, may have also
emigrated to Hunterdon Co. I am looking for help in sorting out the children
of these two (maybe three) brothers. I am particularly interesting in finding
who was the father of Johan William Alpock born 1739 in Hunterdon County who
was married to Elizabeth Eick as he is my direct ancestor. Thanks in advance
for the help.
