I am searching for the ancestors or relations of Mahlon Pettit (Pettus), b
abt 1829, probably in SC. He was found in LA in 1850 and TX by 1860.

The Pettits of SC had roots in NJ and VA.

I found the following marriage record and would like to determine whether
or not this Mahlon is related to my Mahlon.

Mahlon Pettitb: 1809-1819
..+Amanda Higginsb: 1809-1819m: 13 November 1839 in Hunterdon, NJ
