<< I'm looking for any info on Dr. Roger Parke from England and resident of
Hunterdon/Burlington/Hopewell. I am his 9th Great Grandson. I've been
told that he was aboard the ship "Greyhound" that was shipwrecked along the
Delaware River and that he learned herbal medicine practices from the
Indians...would love any info anyone has on he and his families history!

William,
I am also a descendent of Dr. Roger Parke. The most complete info on Roger
and his descendents can be found by contacting the Parke Society. You can
write to Mrs. Marjorie C. Isaac, 202 Meadowbrook Drive, Clarks Summit, Pa
18411-9245.
How are you descended from Roger. I am descended through Rogers son William.
Williams son, Zebulon, fought in the American Revolution and then settled with
his family in Western Pennsylvania.
I think the jury is still out on who Roger was married to. There have been
several names proposed but none documented. But there is much info on Roger
and his family. There is a book entitled, "Pioneers of Old Hopewell", by
Ralph Ege, which contains a great deal of info and may be purchased from the
Hopewell Historical Society. There is also much info at the NJ Archives.
I will look forward to hearing from you.
Barbara D. Wetzel
