Subject: [NJHUNTER-L] BURT of Hunterdon

Hello,
New to the list, I am one of many frustrated researchers of BURT
surname. Need info on BURT, particularly family of Joseph Burt whose
will was proved November 4, 1749, Hopewell Tp, Hunterdon, NJ. A Joseph
Burt was in the War of 1812 from that area. Any knowledgeable researcher
please take pity on me and throw some BURT crumbs, any and all
appreciated.
I'm trying to find parents of Ebenezer Burt born 1783 NJ. He had six
sons, named the first after his wife's father Lot Leonard; then Joseph,
Mark, Merritt, Ebenezer, and George. I believe he is related to Isaac N.
Burt, perhaps a cousin, and a William Burt (like that really helps). He
moved to Washington County PA and thence to Marion/Morrow County Ohio,
where he was Justice of the Peace before his death in 1836. His wife
Sarah Leonard Burt died in 1849.
Thanks,
Jane Peppler
