Hang on Muffy, you've got your beginning muddled. Rachel Trout was the
daughter of George TROUT and his wife Hannah LEQUEAR. This is well
documented at, among other places, the Hunterdon County Historical Society
in Flemington. Rachel was born 12 April 1779 and marr. 10 Aug 1795 John
Besson; she d. 22 Aug 1866 in Mount Pleasant, NJ.

John BESSON, b. 17 Apr 1750, married Margaret Opdyck, b. 2 Feb 1752. They
married ca 1772. John BESSON was an Ensign in the Revolution. He d. 24
July 1842, and hsi wife d. 3 Mar 1820, in Amwell NJ.

>From there down it looks OK; I have Fanny Besson b. 1822, marr. Sylvester
Apgar. Happy to have that line, thanks.

John BESSON was the son of Francis BESSON, who lived in Hunterdon Co. NJ in
1754 -- he witnessed the will of Jacobus Sneyder 29 Oct 1754 and again
witnessed the will of Johannis Yager 1 July 1756. He married Elizabeth
HUMMER, who was the daughter of Adam Hummer from Germany; Adam was living in
Lebanon Twp, Hunterdon Co. in 1741 and later was found in Amwell Twp with
150 acres. His wife's name is not known as far as I know. His will was
dated 8 Mar 1781 and he d. sometime before 24 Mar 1786 when the price of his
coffin was paid to a Martin Johnson. All this is also in the Hunterdon Co.
Historical Society library.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Mary
