The following appeared on the NJ List. I thought you might find
this interesting in your research.

I ran across a pretty neat website that will be of interest to folks who
want to know that the historical census data can tell us. If you ever
wanted to know answers to questions like:

How many Head of Households in a given state.
How many white slaves in a given year.
How many black slaves in a given year.
How many English born persons in a given state.
How many Irish born persons in a given state.
German, Scottish, etc..

Just a sampling of the questions you can put in to get results.

http://fisher.lib.virginia.edu/census/

It covers Federal census's from 1790 to 1970. It has an interactive
interface and you can even create graphs.

This would really make an interesting addition to family stories and
books.

Cheers!
