Does anyone have any idea what the initials E.S.Q. mean after someone's
name. My ancestor was listed as "Nathaniel Rounsavill, ESQ" in a few
places but he died intestate and his land was insufficient to pay off his
debts... I had heard that E.S.Q. meant that the person was a large land
owner, and also heard that it meant they were engaged in the legal
profession. Anyone know for sure???
