In response to Bill Morrow's post nearly a <gulp> month ago:
Have a "Release of Dower" dated Feb. 8, 1838. May be of interest to those
researching Stryker/Myers/Miers/Mires/Covenhoven.
Full text available upon request. Also have scanned images of the Dower.
>From "Anna Mires widow and relict of Peter Mires late of the Township of
Amwell - in the County of Hunterdon and State of New Jersey" . . . "whereof
I do hereby acknowledge, by Isaac Stryker [my g-g-g-f?]- of the Township of
Readington and County of Hunterdon"
it concerns a "that certain lot of land, situate in the Township of
Readington aforesaid Beginning at a Stone heap at the North East Corner of
the wood before the Door of D. Covenhovens house"
