Just another article found in the Hunterdon Democrat newspaper which
might interest SMITH family researchers.

Grand Re-Union of the Smith Family and Friends. An Invitation To All!

To whom these Present may Concern - or to the Descendants of John Henry
Smith and Christiann, his wife, and their Sons and Daughters - consisting of
the following named persons:
Christopher Smith,Charity Sheats,
Martin Smith,Laney Groff,
John Smith,Catharine Manning,
Andrew Smith,Elizabeth Demott,
Joseph Smith,Mary Pickel,
Isaac Smith,Rebecca Cole,
Peter Smith,Sarah Garrabrant,
Jacob Smith,Christian Garrabrant,
Zachariah Smith

Now be it remembered that the above named persons were born and brought up
in Readington township, Hunterdon county, N.J. And be it further remembered
that the Children's Children down to the present generation, are hereby
invited and required to lay all business aside, and meet with the
subscribers, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 1877, by order of the Committee to hold
the Second Annual Re-Union by the Smith Family and friends, and it was
resolved that this gathering will be held in a Grove on the farm of Peter Z.
Smith, formerly owned by Zachariah Smith, deceased, One Mile and a Half East
from Peapack, Somerset Co., N.J.
Now as it is the custom in these Social Meetings for each and every one to
provide suitable provisions for themselves and some to spare for their
friends, they will please do so on this occasion.
Boiling water will be provided near the Grove by the Committee for Tea and
Coffee. Addresses will be delivered at 2 o'clock P.M. by Rev. A. B.
Woodworth, of Summit, N.J., and others.

The Raritan Brass Band will be in attendance, also, Fairchild's Drum Corps,
of Morristown.
If the above day should prove to be stormy, it will be held on the next
