Hello Rob,

The Elizabeth Hummer who married Agesilaus Besson is two
generations away from the Elizabeth Hummer who married Francis
Besson; Agesilaus is Francis' grandson.

1 - Francis Besson m. Elizabeth HUMMER, dr Adam/--, ca 1748
2 - John Besson b. 17 Apr 1750 m. Margaret OPDYCK ca 1772
3 - Francis Besson, b. 1776, m. Elizabeth THATCHER 1779
3 - Agesilaus Besson, b. 1790, m. Elizabeth HUMMER 1815

My sources are the archives of the Hunterdon County Historical Society in
Flemington, where there is a fat file on the Hummers. In addition there is
an excellent article on this family in the Hunterdon Historical nNewsletter,
Vol. 11, No. 3, Fall 1975, published by them. It is mainly about the other
Hummer family, based primarily on wills and land deeds as well as baptismal
records.

The family is not carried down far enough to identify the Elizabeth Hummer
who married Agesilaus Besson in 1815. The information was in bible records
on file in the Hunterdon County Historical Society, submitted by Mrs William
C. McGinnis, Regent of the Ompoge Chapter, DAR, Perth Amboy NJ in 1941, with
Mrs G. Chas. Gunderson, Chairman, Genealogical Records,, State Vice-Chairman
of Genealogical Records for Midddlesex Co. NJ filed under Besson.
Agesilaus's birth date was recorded as 18 March 1790 and the marriage date
was 19 October 1815. No information was given on Elizabeth Hummer however,
other than her name.
