The Teunis (as I have it spelled), son of Petrus QUICK and Maria GULICK,
that I have that most fits the time period (but not well) was born 24 Jun
1732. I have no death date. He was married to Helena, but I have no
information on descendents. I suppose he could be the father of the Tunis
in your information. I appreciate the detail you sent. It may prove
helpful to me in the future. I have information from Petrus back a few
generations. If you find a link, let me know and I will be happy to send it
on.

Rob: Thanks for your reply. I haven't really been tracking Tunis Quick
for his own sake (aside from the fact that "Quick" is an English
translation of the Swiss name "Wipf," and my mother's name is Wipf), but
I have been interested in his connection to the Hunterdon Co. Hudnuts.
As you know, there are two Tunises, father and son, and a Titus (as well
as 8 others listed in the Amwell 1792 Militia). One Tunis was a
creditor of John Ringo's in his 1797 estate, and that same Tunis or his
son married Sarah Hudnut, daughter of Isaiah, as my outline shows; I
don't have a date. Titus Q. is a Lt. in the 3rd Co. of the 1792 Amwell
Militia, and several Quicks you probably know turn up in the Bethlehem,
Hopewell, and Kingwood Militias. Tunis and Tunis Jr. are in
D'Autrechy's Deed Book I (to 1795), and in February 1801 one of the
Tunises is on a Hunterdon grand jury (Court of Common Pleas Minutes,
XVI, p190). Back in 1787 a Tunis Q. was a defendant in a case filed by
the late Collector of Hunterdon vs Tunis as [present?] Collector, over a
300 pound debt. Since Sarah Hudnut lived some time between about 1780
to perhaps 1840, her Tunis Quick husband would have to fit roughly those
dates. Please let me know what you have. Thanks!
Sincerely,
Dave Hudnut
