I've been researching the VAN SICKLE/N family for a while now and
recently found the following bpt record at Raritan DRC, Sommerville,
NJ:
14 Oct 1719
VAN SIKAAL, Ritsaart & wife-->child, Marya
---witnesses Tuenis MIDDELSWA [prob Middelswart] & Niltie TEUNIS

I am not familiar with the given name "Ritsaart"---is this a nickname
of some kind or the form of another name I might readily recognize?

The names I know to be possible candidates for the father in this time
frame are Ferdinand, Cornelius, Jan/Johannes, Reynier/Reinier &
possibly Garret or Abraham. I do not recognize the witnesses in
relationship to the Van Sickle/n family either.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?
