Dear List Members,
I have found some new information on my husbands'CAIN
ancestors.I hope that someone might be able to help
me locate some of them.
I believe Joseph cain was b. Amwell Township,NJ
I have found a Joseph Cain,b 1794 in NJ and died 1866 in Somerset Co.He
married Polly (MARY) Sayre,b.1814 married 1832
in Essex Co,NJ
Joseph CAIN was in the War of 1812 .
His children were:
Joseph Jr.1832
Margaret A. 1834----she married a David Campbell in 1853
George Washington Cain,b.july 1835 m.Harriet Hoffman 1864
They are both buried in Springfield NJ
Kennedy Martin,b.1837
Bryan Remer,b.1839
James Brooks,b.1842
Henry Clay,b.abt 1846
William Ross,b.abt 1849----buried in Springfield Presbyterian
Cemetery
Susan Adalaide,b.?
Joseph and Mary Sayre CAIN are buried in Bound Brook Presbyterian
Cemetery.Mary died in 1893.Others buried there are:
Two infants named Mary,both died at 5 months,1845 &1852
Isaac Cain 1847
Joseph Cain @ 75 years 1866
Bryan CAIN in 1821 (THIS IS THE OLDEST GRAVE) who is he???
2nd Joseph in Dec 1921 @ 85 years
IN AN AJOINING PLOT:
James Cain in Aug 1877
Rachel HODGE Cain in Apr.1883
Joseph W. CAIN in Dec 1921
Emily REA Cain in Oct. 1927
I need to locate the parents,siblings and origins of
Joseph CAIN,B.1794 ;d.Aug.1866
He was in the 1850 listed as a farmer in Somerset County,NJ
and all his children were with him.
Thank you for any advise you may give to me.I'll share anything
I have on these ancestors.
