Federal censuses of NJ are available from 1830-1920. County copies for 1850-1880
are generally available at county clerk's offices. The 1890 census was
destroyed except for some families from Jersey City, Hudson County. State
censuses began in 1855 with some missing. <<<
This is a GREAT suggestion...geez...I didn't even check for one...but will!!
Thanks for the tip and information!!! Sometimes it's information like this that
can really help you narrow down your resources for research...AND...save time
when you do get to the library!!
