Does anyone know where the records are kept for the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery?
It is associated with the Alexandria First Presbyterian Church in Mt.
Pleasant. I have contacted both the church and the grounds keeper but they
tell me the old records (pre 1900 burials) are not in their records, as
they must have been passed along to some one - possibly the family of the
previous grounds keeper. I have also contacted the Presbyterian Church
Archives in Philadelphia with no luck. Was hoping the records existed
somewhere and were perhaps donated to the Hunterdon County Historical
Society or something. I have several direct ancestors who are listed as
being buried there but I cannot locate their tombstones and I would like to
check my references. Any suggestions or ideas are certainly welcome.
