I am also interested in the WILLETS though they are not a direct line for me, (at
least I don't think so yet). Both my grandfather & great-grandfather's middle
names were "WILLETTS" and no one in the family can explain the significance.
I've traced his direct line back 5 generations from them and no direct link to
WILLETS. This is quite puzzling.

I have, however, found some WILLETTS that were married to KLINES that probably
originated in NJ. they are:
1.) Abraham WILLET; b-Abt. mid 1700's, m- ? BRITTON; dau.=Mary
2.) - dau. Mary WILLET; b-1785,
d-1854,
m-1826 to Isaac KLINE (b-1778, d-1846).
Isaac was the son of Abraham KLINE (b-1735 in NJ, d-1828 in Columbia Co., PA) and
Charity Ann KRAMER (b-1741, d-1824, m-Hunterdon Co., NJ)

3.) Catherine WILLET; m- William ROBBINS (b-1796, d-1867)
William was the son of Thomas ROBBINS (b-1760) and Elizabeth KLINE (b-1761).
Elizabeth KLINE was also a dau. of Abraham KLINE & Charity Ann Kramer making
Catherine ... Abraham's & Charity's grandaughter.

My direct lines include KLINEs and ROBBINs, hence the connection. I would love
to hear more about the WILLETS.

There is also a prominent Rev. War WILLETS named Col. Marinus Willett who with a
party of Sons of Liberty stopped the British from cleaning out the New York City
armory when the Brits were ordered to Boston soon after Concord. He was also
commander at Fort Plain in the Mohawk Valley during the summers of 1780 & 1871.
He commanded Fort Willet, 4 miles west of Fort Plain. Is he related?
