Subject: [NJHUNTER-L] Militia and Tax Ratables for Hunterdon
Date: Wed, 12 May 1999 06:58:49 -0400

The militia list for Amwell as well as other townships of
Hunterdon county - plus 1774 tax ratable tables - were
all published in the Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey.
This is a multiple volume set published by the NJ State
Genealogical Society, I think quarterly. Kenn Stryker-Rodda
indexed the first 45 volumes or so before his death. Each
volume has it's own index as well but often articles are
continued across books. I know the larger NJ genealogical
societies and libraries all carry this - perhaps it is also available
on film from a local LDS Family History Center?

Kenn Stryker-Rodda also put out a book, "New Jersey in 1793"
which combines all these Rev. War era sources into a kind of
census for NJ in 1793. This should also be available at the above
places.

Hope this helps,
