Subject: [NJHUNTER-L] How do I find Hunterdon?
Date: Mon, 17 May 99 11:57:24 -0000
I am planning a trip to southeastern PA this summer and hope to make a
small side trip to visit the Hunterdon area (that is, if I can FIND it).
I've tried to look for maps to give me an idea how to get to where I want
to go and, using the town name I had -- Amwell, couldn't locate it. Has
the town gone out of existance? My family started there (early 1700s)
and then moved to the Schooley's Mountain area (late 1700s) before moving
on to PA and on to Canada once the revolution went the "wrong" way
(however, less than 100 years later, my grandparents were living in Ohio,
so they obviously didn't thing it had been TOO wrong!)
Also, could anyone tell me where to locate the Hunterdon Historical
Society and the hours/days they are open?
Thanks for the assistance. You can contact me personally, if you wish.
