Thank you for the article. I am a descendant of the Hunterdon Co. Dalrymple's.
There are many references to the family descending from the Third Earl of Stair.
However, from the research I have done, as well as other researchers, the Third
Earl of Stair never married and died without issue. At least issue that we know
about. I understand there is a new Baron book out dedicated to the illegitimate
children of royalty. Maybe it will shed some light on the subject. And maybe I
don't want to know :-) I heard that the book sells for over $400, so I will have
to wait for a library to carry it.
