Hello,

I am seeking information on a Hardy family in Hunterdon County in the early
to mid-1800s. My gggrandfather, John Hardy, was born in Jutland on Dec. 1,
1803 (or, by one account, 1807). He m. Margaret Eliza Tuthill in New York
City on April 27, 1839. They had 3 children: Louise, b. 1840; John Francis,
b. 1843; and my ggrandfather, Peter Augustus, b. 1846.

According to some very old family correspondence, there were other Hardy
relatives living in Hunterdon County. We know of a Wesley Hardy, who m.
Sarah Macklin Oct. 9, 1842 in Bethlehem Twp., and mention is made of a
George Hardy and a Mary Jane (or Mary Ann) Hardy. (She was the writer of
the letters to my ggrandfather.)

I have no idea who John's parents or siblings were, or what relation these
other Hardys were to him. If anyone has any information on this family (no
detail is too small!), I'd sure like to hear from you!
