Patricia, I have noticed your recent enquiry for records of this church
by checking the mail list archives, but I could not see any positive
replies to it, except that someone else was also after the same
information.

I am very much interested in those records, because in my research I
have come across the baptism of on child of Christian Allmos (Almas)
and Magdalena on 25 Sep 1784 (baby Henry was born 29 June 1784), but
apparently no marrige was found for the two. I might add at this point
in time that Christian Allmos aka Almost/Almas was a soldier of the
Brunswick troops who as part of the Convention army marched through the
area just north of Oldwick (Pittstown) on 11 Dec.1778, when he escaped
and found shelter with some local German family. The daughter must have
liked him and they got married. Later this young family moved away to
Ontario, Canada.
Now another name has come up in connection to this church, that of
Nikolaus FENNER, who according to an unconfirmed source has married
Catharine Bohm (perpaps Boehm) on 30 Dec 1783 at Zion Lutheran, Oldwick.

My interest lies in finding those Hessian soldiers who escaped and
settled somewhere nearby, and my belief is that where there as one or
two, there most likely were more, since it seemed that those guys were
welcomed with open arms (literally speaking).

I therefore would appreciate any assistance anyone can give me, best
of course would be to find the whole church record between 1778 and
about 1800. That would help. Thank you so much,
