Subject: [NJHUNTER] Looking for Ruthanna Schomp Ramsey
Date: Mon, 11 Oct 1999 07:29:13 -0700

Greetings,

While reviewing notes and old correspondence, I came across a copy of a
letter, written in about 1981, from Ruthanna Schomp Ramsey to my late Great
Uncle Robert O Apgar. In the letter, she describes herself as a 'first
cousin, once removed'. She also discusses two common ancestors, John Haas,
veteran of the Revolution, and John Teeter. As near as I can figure,
Ruthanna must have been the daughter of an unknown sister (unknown to me
anyway) of Uncle Bob's grandmother Emma Katherine Hoffman(1863-1901) . Emma
was the first wife of Marshall F Apgar, onetime Mayor of High Bridge. Emma
was a daughter of Frederick Hoffman and Mary Ann Teeter, daughter of John
Teeter. Frederick's mother Eleanor Haas Hoffman was a daughter of John
Haas.

According to the Apgar Family genealogies, Ruthanna was married to Alvah
Ramsey (bc1895) son of James Luther Ramsey and Georgiana Haver. In her
letter, Ruthanna discussed a database she was compiling consisting of
descendents of John Haas and John Teeter. I'd love to be able to see this
database if it still exists. I'd therefore like to know if anyone knows
anything about her work or knows anything about her descendents. I believe
she had five children who if still alive would probably be in their 60s or
70s. I'd love to hear from any of her descendents or anyone who might know
something about them.

Thanks in advance,

Rick Novak
