Hello All!
I am new to the list today! I am looking for any mention and info on the
family of Thomas RUCKMAN around 1760+ in Hunterdon Co, NJ.

My son's ancestor is Jesse EDWARDS, a Rev War soldier who died in Scioto Co,
OH in 1856 at the age of over 100 years. In testimony given for a Rev War
pension in 1832 in Adams co, OH., Jesse EDWARDS said:

" I have no record of my age. At the age of about four years, I was
apprenticed out to Thomas RUCKMAN and taken to Hunterdon County, New Jersey
where I resided til I was about nineteen. I then went back to Bucks Co.,
PA."

The pension file also quotes him as saying he was born 4 March 1756, in
Bucks Co., PA.

I am wondering if Mr. RUCKMAN was an uncle or other relative of Jesse's? I
have no idea who Jesse's parents or possible siblings were.

I would like to find out as much as possible about the Thomas RUCKMAN
family.

Does anyone have any suggestions? How would I find legal documents
regarding apprenticeships? In this case would I look in Bucks Co, PA
deeds or where?
Any info will be appreciated.
Thank you so much,
