I have some Dilts info on my www page
http://homepages/rootsweb.com/~refonner/index2.htm
Look in the database Crawford Co. PA Fonner's and look in the index or
surname list.
I don't have a Phoebe but she could be a sister of my Jane Dilts. I have
not been successful yet in
connecting the Crawford Co. Fonner's with my family line which supposedly
also came from New Jersey thru
Northumberland, PA and settled in Greene Co. PA, before my great-great
grandfather moved to
East Central Illinois (Douglas Co.) about 1855.

Crawford Co., PA Fonner's came from NJ and intermarried with Dilts and
several others.

There is some additional Dilts info in a book I have from a local library
called "Germans Settlers of
New Jersey".

I will try and type it up and send it to the list ASAP along with a more
complete book reference for the above book.

The book has been referred to on the list many times. I believe most of the
book is pretty accurate, but not 100% certain.

The book is valuable even if your surname is not included because of the
historical story it tells of the German and Dutch
settling in New Jersey and especially the startup of many churches.
Excellent reading!
