Subject: [NJHUNTER] GARRISON-THARP Cemetery; Bethlehem Township; NJ
Date: Wed, 3 Nov 1999 08:04:17 -0500

Does a complete set of gravestone transcriptions exist for this cemetery?

Does anyone know the genealogy of the GARRISONs identified below?

How were the GARRISON and THARP families connected?

...in Bethlehem... is a cemetery with Garrison and Tharp people buried in
it. It is off 579, unmarked and down a lane. ...the headstones. Some are
readable, some are not...

James Garrison b. February 1768-d. December 1825 -- aged 58 years and
<unreadable>

Martha - Widow of John Garrison d. July 2, 1866 - aged 76 years

George - son of Ephraim and Susan Tharp - d. August 17, 1851 - aged 5 years
8 months

Ephraim Tharp - d. January 31, 1874 - aged 70 years 10 months & 23 days

Susannah Jarrard - wife of Ephraim Tharp - d. July 15, 1874 - aged 67 years
& 28 days

There are about 20 headstones in the plot... I don't know the relationship
between the Tharps and the Garrisons. There are more that are readable
however they don't show up
on film well because they are worn... Many are from the late 1700-early
1800's. The last one seems to be the Tharps. It is made of granite and is
in excellent condition.
