Hi! I dont recognize them from the 1915-1920s era, however, the WYCKOFFs
and SKILLMANs married into the BEEKMAN line back in the post Rev War era.
BEEKMANs were an old NY and NJ family, from the Netherlands lines. I
have no doubt that the persons mentioned were from those old families.
Some of the members of these families moved to Loudoun Co, VA. , Mason Co,
KY and Adams Co OH. in the late 1780s.
John SKILLMAN's widow (Catherine BEEKMAN dau of Christopher and Sarah (COX)
BEEKMAN) married Rev War vet Jesse EDWARDS after John SKILLMAN died in
Loudoun Co VA abt 1776(?)
Jesse EDWARDS was supposed to have been raised by Thomas RUCKMAN in
Hunterdon Co NJ from the age of 4 to 19----Jesse was born in 1756 in Bucks
Co, PA.
Would like to know more about this apprenticeship of little Jesse's to
Thomas RUCKMAN. Was RUCKMAN an uncle or other relative?
Where could I find out more about 'apprenticeships' of children in the
1700s?
Thanks,
Joanne in CA
