Subject: [NJHUNTER] JOSEPH PERRY - ADAM PERRY - NEW JERSEY
Date: Fri, 17 Dec 1999 14:13:03 EST

LOOKING for descendants of JOSEPH PERRY who apparently resided in Newton,
known as Vernon township in the 1730-1740 period. According to Snell's
History of Sussex and Warren County, New Jersey this is what Snell says:

"Mr. Edsall, from reliable data...has summed up the settlements ....as
follows:

In that part of ancient Newton known as Vernon township there were some early
settlements, principally consisting of those who had first tried their
fortunes in Orange County. One Joseph Perry, who had prepared for the
erection of a house there about the year 1740, could not raise the timbers
without procuring help from New Windsor...."

Need descendancy information and/or any of his siblings. Am trying to make a
connection to an ADAM PERRY who owned land about 1802-1812. Adam Perry died
1823 in Sussex County leaving will. Suspect Adam Perry born about 1740's. I
also find an Adam Perry in the Roxbury Township, Morris County, Tax Ratables.
Are they one and the same person?

Any help or leads would be appreciated.
