I have pretty much filled in what I need to in this line, but I have a
real sticking point.
I have my g-g-grandfather James S. Manners married to Eunice Eura
Manners abt 1844 in Hopewell.
Eunice is the daughter of John Schenck Manners and Penelope Van Princess
Stout - that side is not a problem.
I can find no indication as to who was the father of James S. Manners.
There is a misc. event in the International Geneneaologial Index in
1816, but no parents are shown. From the dates, I suspect this is a
birth or christening. My family tradition indicates that he was the son
of Dr. John Manners (1786-1853) and Eliza Cooper, but Traditions of
Hunterdon page 138 states the Dr. left no issue.
Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?
Thanks -
