Julie,
There is much data on the Dumont family in the Somerset County Historical
Quarterlies, especially the article "Wallerand Dumont and His Somerset
County Descendants," in HCHQ, Vol I (1012) pp. 106 ++. These quarterlies
are available online through Familytreemaker. Laminington Presbyterian
Church is located in Bedminster Township, Somerset county. The tombstone
inscriptions are also in SCHQ but no mention of Dumont or Finley. In the
Somerset County marriages in Vol. III of SCHQ on page 312 is the following:
Dumon, John and Deborah Finley, July 1, 1821 by Galpin. In Snell's History
of Somerset and Hunterdon Counties is the mention that the Rev. Horace
Galpin, ordained and installed June 15, 1814, continued as minister of
Lamington Pres Ch until April 1825. (Snell p. 718). Although Lamington is
in Somerset Co, it is just 2 miles over the border of Hunterdon County,
next to Oldwick in Tewksbury Twp.
