>Interested in the Rogers surname. I have a Jacob and Mary Rogers living in

Warren co. in the early 1800's. I do not know from where they came from.
They
had a daughter Mary and possibly a son Jacob, both who lived in Warren Co.
Rogers is a rare name in this area. They may have come from Hunterdon Co.
Any
clues? <

Didn't find any listed in the cemeteries I'm indexing, but I did find one
that may or
may not be of interest.

In Deats' Marriage Records, p. 239: Rogers, Major and Elizabeth Bodine,
18 Nov 1837, (3-132, Wiggs).

Rev. J. W. Wigg was the pastor of Kingwood Baptist Church.

The name could have been Rodgers back in the 1700's in Hopewell.

>From 20 Aug 1857 to 20 Aug 1863, you have a Rev. Joseph Rogers/Rodgers
listed as
Pastor of the Kingwood Presbyterian Church.

And

You have a Methodist Circuit Minister by the name of James O. Rogers around
1836 and 1862 and you might find something at the Methodist Episcopal
Church
in Whitehouse, which is Readington Township.
