Greetings,

A family legend claims that my 'orphaned' GG grandmother Ella Hummer (1864-1925) of Hunterdon County, NJ was the daughter of an Elizabeth Lewis and the granddaughter of a Jacob Lewis. While searching for matches for Jacob, I discovered a Jacob Lewis (b1814) who was married to Eliza Bellis in 1833 in Somerset County, NJ. Jacob was the son of an Isaac Lewis and Fanny Gertrude Kline. I'm interested in learning more about this Jacob, especially his children. I'd also like to find out if there were any other Jacob Lewises in Hunterdon or Somerset Counties during the early 19th century.
