Greetings,

A recent review of the 1860 Census Index shows a Jacob Hummer living in Union
TWP. My great aunt Dorothy Apgar recently sent me an abstract of a will for
a Jacob Hummer probated in 1896. We believe that 'our' Ella Hummer
(1864-1925) may be related to a Jacob Hummer. Family legend also claims that
she may have been from the Union TWP area. I'd love to hear from anyone with
more information on ANY Jacob Hummers, particularly from mid 19th century
northern Hunterdon County. 'Our' Jacob may be the same individual (or his
father) that married Mary Matthews in 1813 by a 'Hunt' according to Deat's
Marriage Records. Anyone have any idea which Hunt this might be and which
church?
