I've been lurking for months and now I think I'm ready to try for
information. I am looking for anything on PETER HUFF, SR. The only thing I
know about him is that in his Rev. War pension application (which was filed
in Mercer Co., KY in 1832) he states that he was "born in Leydon Township,
Huntingdon (sic) Co., New Jersey". He gives his age as 76 (birth date
c1756). He moved to Mercer Co., KY in 1794 where witnesses to his
application were "his neighbors in NJ: Cornelius Vanandall and Daniel Covert"

I know nothing about a wife or children. I'm looking for ancestors of Peter
Huff who stated in his War of 1812 pension application that he was from PA.
He moved to Augusta Co., KY and by 1823 had moved to Callaway Co., MO. The
PA county he is thought to come from is just across the state line from
Hunterdon Co., NJ so I'm kinda grasping at straws but genealogists do that
when all else fails.

The variations on the HUFF name are HOUF, HOUGH and possibly others.

Any little hint of recognition will be greatly appreciated.
