"New Germantown" is a village located in Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon
County. According to J. P. Snell, History of Hunterdon County, it
"began about 1700, and was first called "Smithfield", from Ralph Smith
who was the founder. It was called "New Germantown" about 1753, when
the Germans gained their ascendancy".

The "Zion Corporation" refers to the united churches of Zion and St.
Paul. The churches obtained a charter of incorporation from Governor
William Franklin, dated June 29, 1767. The two churches were styled
as "the United Zion and St. Paul's Churches and Congregations, in the
counties of Hunterdon, Somerset and Morris, of the Province of New
Jersey.

The Zion Lutheran Church is a lovely, active church. St. Paul's
Lutheran Church is or was at Pluckamin, Bedminster Twp., Somerset
County. Don't know if it's still there or not.

Hope this helps.
