Bob;
My name is Trina Young and I too am a descendent of Johan Phillip Kaes. I
was on a trip to Philadelphia this summer and had the opportunity to go to
Flemington with the same intention. I asked for directions to the cemetery
they would have been buried in and was told to go to the one at Larison's
corner. I did find Johann's sons graves and have photos of them. If you
do receive a photo of Johann's grave, would you be willing to send me a
copy? I will gladly send you copies of the ones I have and in addition, I
have a photo of the mural in the Union Hotel in Flemington. The mural is of
Johan Kaes exchanging a peace pipe with the Indian
Techimunga(spelling?????). It's a great mural. I also have photos of the
house built by his sons on the property they purchased from William Penn in
the late 1700's. There was a plaque on the site describing it. They had a
tannery there during the revolutionary war.
How did you know where Johann is buried? I am very interested in any
information you might like to share. I have my genealogy posted on my web
site at:
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/y/o/u/Katrina--trina-M-Young/ .
I have my file posted there and also a limited version of it on Rootsweb at
http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=twoyoung
however, after my trip I think I have found that some of my information may
be incorrect. I have not had a lot of time to verify it yet. What line are
you descended from?
Again, I am willing to share information if you are. Thank you for your
time.
Trina Young

Subject: [NJHUNTER] Case Cemetery, Flemington
: Hello,
:
: Is there anyone on the list who lives in Flemington, NJ?
: My 7th great grandfather Johann Philip Kaes is buried in
: Case Cemetery on 56-60 Bonnell Street. I would like
: photo and/or video of this cemetery and his grave which
: is described as a simple fieldstone with an inscription:
: 'JPK 1756'. If there is anyone in Flemington who would
: be willing to do this for me, I will, of course, cover all
: expenses including lunch at your favorite Flemington cafe.
